Our final port is Bergen, a decent sized city. Jen rose early and hit the town, while Lana lay in a bit. Lucky for Jen, Lana was there when the spa called at nine to find out why Jen wasn’t at the cancelled appointment?!  Jen speed-walked back to the ship, had a quick shower, and went for her massage.

Before Lana messaged, Jen had found the Bryggens neighbourhood, famous for its rows of colourful homes, and Bergenhus Fortress. The fortress is a former Royal seat as well as religious and military site, dating back to the early sixteenth century. It is also home to dozens and dozens of hooded crows.

In the meantime, Lana headed out to explore. She found many birds, interesting architecture, and local shops.

After her massage, Jen had lunch in the sunny windows beside the pool. It was lovely and warm. Relaxing a while, she then met up with Lana for a short jaunt outside again. This proved to be quite short as Jen didn’t realize how close it was to all aboard when they left, so the duo split after the first gift shop.

Jen then changed for dinner, did some laundry, and went to the Crow’s Nest to watch the sun disappear behind the mountains.

Dinner was at the Pinnacle Grill, a special meal to celebrate 25 years of friendship. It was delicious.
